Faithful public service costs something — Don has never been afraid to pay it.
For twenty-five years, Don has counseled businesses and individuals through contract negotiation, entity formation, capital raises, real estate closings, and estate and trust administration. He has litigated in state and federal courts and is recognized for his work in fiduciary and probate law. Don is also a qualified mediator who helps clients solve their disputes without the time and expense of litigation.
Don served two terms as Bucks County's Register of Wills and Clerk of the Orphans' Court, presiding over disputed will contests and preserving the county's court records. Under his leadership the office's productivity rose more than 20 percent, fees were reduced, and revenues increased — while spending fell from his first year in office to his last. He managed more than $3.5 million in public funds.
His time in office also tested his convictions. He held to his views in public life despite organized opposition, including an ACLU lawsuit over his position on traditional marriage, and used the role to champion adoption, charitable giving and responsible fiscal management.
His peers elected him president of both the Pennsylvania Registers of Wills and Clerks of the Orphans' Court Association and the State Association of Elected County Officials. Courts have also consulted him on case-management systems, privacy protections and guardianship oversight, and today he advises candidates, develops campaign materials and serves as a state committeeman.
